TELOS Board Members

The TELOS Board of Directors oversees the direction and management of the affairs of TELOS. It is the major policy-making body of TELOS and has the responsibility for the supervision of the purpose and the implementation of TELOS's programs.

Qualifications: The members the Board of Directors shall be persons who:

  • Recognize the necessity of providing wholistic mental health services to underserved populations around the world.
  • Desire to help other persons be encouraged, empowered, and equipped in their personal, relational, and professional lives.
  • Work to prepare people for effective service in their contexts.
  • Seek to live their lives-personally and professionally-in a spiritual integrated manner, as followers of Jesus.
  • Rand Michael, DMin, LMFT (HI)

    Founder and President of TELOS international, inc., Rand holds a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctorate in counseling and prevention services. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Licensed in Hawaii), he is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is an Associate Professor and Clinical Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at George Fox University. Rand has over twenty years experience in international ministry.

  • Phyllis Michael, MA, MS, DHL, CFLE

    Co-Founder and Vice-President of TELOS international, inc., Phyllis is Professor Emeritus of Human Development and Family Studies at Warner Pacific College. She is a Certified Family Life Educator and participates frequently in international clinical and training ministry. She has recently written and implemented a Master of Arts degree in Human Services for the Adult Degree Program at Warner Pacific. In May, 2017, she was awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Mid-America Nazarene University, where she served as a pioneer faculty member.

  • Janet Taylor, MS, LMFT (OR)

    Janet is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has extensive international clinical training and experience. She balances her private practice with frequent international  trips doing counseling and clinical training throughout the year to diverse areas of the globe. 

  • Raymond Yang, Pastor, MDiv

    Raymond has been a pastor in East Asia since 1990. He majored in international business at Shenyang University, was a student and teaching associate in the Marriage and Family Training Program led by TELOS, and has received an MDiv at Talbot Seminary, Biola University and is now pursuing a PhD in Cross-Cultural Studioes.  He has worked in at least three arenas: the business world, the church world as a pastor, and as a marriage and family therapist. With his wife, Rainbow and their two boys, Tim and Caleb, they as a family, are called to serve the Chinese communities with their international experiences.
